This Week’s Assignments

We have made it through 2 weeks of school. Only 170 more days left :-) Please be sure you are signing your student’s planners. This week they will have to sit out at recess if the planners are not signed. Also any homework that is not complete will result in loss of recess. We are beginning to work on more subjects so tests will become a part of our weekly tasks. I will usually let you know ahead of time if there is a test. Please note if I feel we have been preparing all week in class I will not make it the parent’s responsibility to work on studying. Last week I felt our students were prepared for the test. As a result they all were in the passing grades they earned. Please let me know if your child is struggling or needs extra attention. I would be happy to help in any way that I can. This is a tentative schedule of the homework. Homework can change so be sure to check your students planner for the correct homework for the day. Tardies
Please remember that your child is tardy if they are not in the classroom when the bell rings at 8am! If they walk into the classroom after the bell, they will be sent to the office for a tardy slip, even if they were on campus when the bell rang.
HOMEWORK
Please note homework is subject to change. Be sure you double check with your student's planner before going ahead on the homework. This will prevent extra work and a lot of headaches :-)

Mrs. Bliss’ Classroom Newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Samantha Bliss and I would like to welcome you and your child to my 3rd Grade class. This is my second year at OLM and I am still learning about the school myself. I attended Fresno State and Graduated in 2003. I have worked for the Livingston and Merced City School District. Beyond school my life includes my husband David and my son, Branyon who was born in February. In my spare time I spend as much time as I can with my family. Family is very important to me and I feel this is all we have to look forward to. I also enjoy shopping and going to Sports events with my husband.

I have a lot of exciting events and

activities planned for the school year and hope that your child will be challenged throughout the year. Since we are a Catholic School I feel that Catholic Tradition is taught first and then academics. With that being said, I do feel it is my job to teach your student to become responsible and independent learners. As parents I hope you will help me in doing so.

I’m excited about the opportunity to get to know you, and I’m looking forward to a happy and productive school year. If you ever have any questions during the school year please feel free to contact me at (209) 722-7496. THANK YOU

This week's Assignments

Since this is the first week of school we will not be overloaded with homework. Please be aware that I do intend on having nightly homework Monday thru Thursday night. It is your child’s responsibilities to write the homework down everyday in their planners and to have the parent’s sign their planners every day. I feel homework makes the students responsible and independent learners. Feel free to ask me any questions during the year if you are not sure about the work.

MONDAY – Spelling 3x each, Math PB pg. 5, Read 15 minutes

TUESDAY – Spelling ABC order, Math PB. Pg. 6 Read 15 minutes.

WEDNESDAY – Spelling pre-test, study spelling, Math PB p. 7, read 15 minutes

THURSDAY – Study Spelling, Literature Story (The Little Painter of Sabana Grande), and Vocabulary

FRIDAY – SPELLING, COMPREHENSION TEST ON LITERATURE STORY & VOCABULARY TEST
