August 24-28

Welcome to week 3!! We are well on our way through our first month of school.  Most of the students are adjusting well. We are working on making an easy transition in subjects and learning study skills.  Our first Social Studies test will be on Wednesday and I am doing my best to work with the students in class to ensure their success.

The homework folders seem to be going well. Thank you for being consistent in signing the planners.  Also if you write a note please let your child know so they can remind me to read it.

Our class will be in charge of the school mass on Sept. 8th.  If your child has a reading or part in the mass please read over their part with them.  I will send home the readings on Wednesday or Thursday.

GREAT WORK!! A big thank you for the continued support with the coupons.  We are now up to 36 items.  Keep the coupons coming!!  Remember toiletry coupons are recommended.

Pictures will be on Tuesday and Wednesday. I am not sure what day we will have pictures but usually we are on the first day.

Open House will be this Sunday, August 30th from 11-1 pm.  Lunch will be from 11-2 pm.  Your child has been working hard so if you can please come and help it would be greatly appreciated.

Friday, August 28th your child may wear free dress if they bring in $1 for SPCA in honor of Lancey and Mercy.

English - Chapter 1 ( punctuation, and types of sentences)
Spelling- please be sure that your child is doing their spelling homework.  This is to help with memorization and it definitely helps for the assessments.  They should not be using uppercase letters unless it is necessary.  I will be marking the word wrong this week if the beginning letter is uppercase.
Reading - Animal Fact/Animal Fable
Math - Chapter 1 Lesson 1-9 - 1-11
Social Studies - Chapter 1 test Wednesday - please understand this is a new format of testing for the students that is why I am doing my best to let them know what's on the test ahead of time.
Science - Chapter 1 Plants
Religion - Chapter 2 - Sacraments
Phonics - Hard and soft sounds Unit 1

Thank you to the parents who helped out with planting and growing our grass heads for Science.  Thank you Dr, McFadden for organizing the project. Cant wait to see them grow ;)
